Ms. Daisy Lopez

Hi families! My name is Daisy Lopez and I teach 3rd grade. This is my third year at Fairwood Explorer.

I knew I wanted to be a teacher at the young age of 5 years old. Fortunately, I had truly amazing teachers who inspired me to pursue teaching and I am so thankful for them. I was born and raised in East San Jose. I have four older brothers and one older sister. My parents are wonderful and they live locally, too.

I attended DeAnza College for my A.A. and for my Childhood Development units to become a preschool teacher. I was a preschool teacher for 5 years. Then, I attended Cal State East Bay for my Undergraduate degree in Human Development with a concentration in Childhood Development. I graduated from SJSU with a Master’s degree in Education and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. During my credential program, I was a substitute teacher for two school districts for grades TK-8.

Some of my interests are: spending time with family and friends, going on walks with my dog, reading, coffee, traveling, indoor cycling, hiking, shopping, and watching movies.
