Welcome to Fairwood!  I joined the Fairwood Explorer community in 2017.  Prior to joining Fairwood, I served as assistant principal of Cherry Chase School for three years.  Before working at Cherry Chase, I taught third and fifth grades at Vargas School, served as summer school administrator at San Miguel, and worked as a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (“STEM”) Instructional Coach through the District Office.  I am an active member of several professional organizations, including the Delta Kappa Gamma society for Women Educators and ACSA.

I was drawn to Fairwood Explorer because the community encourages students to explore their world through hands-on, project based learning.  This model of learning allows students to make connections to real world scenarios and supports our belief that students learn by doing.  To support this mission, the school partners with the greater community of families, local organizations, and the broader community to provide enriching educational experiences for all students.  I believe that this community of support elevates learning and provides all students with an enriching educational experience.

On a personal level, I live in San Jose, CA.  My husband is an aerospace engineer who enjoys running and hiking.  We have two children.  Our son, Ezekiel, is eleven years old and loves reading, inventing, and coding.  Our daughter, Amelia, is nine years old and loves reading, creating, and art. I enjoy hiking, kayaking, word puzzles, reading, exploring the world, and playing video and board games with my family!

I am so pleased to work within the Fairwood community, and I am looking forward to a fantastic year!
