Welcome to Cherry Chase Elementary School, Home of the Chargers!
Our school is located in a suburban area of south Sunnyvale, CA. We currently serve approximately 600 students at our school in grades TK-5. The ethnic make-up of our school community is fairly evenly divided among Asian Indian, Chinese, and Caucasian students, which makes up about 82% of our school population. Approximately 20% of our students are English Learners.
As a high-achieving school, we provide a rich academic program for our students. Our passionate teachers engage students in meaningful activities and projects rooted in the California Common Core Standards that allow students to explore the world around them, engage in deep discussion, and apply their knowledge to real-world scenarios. In addition to the academic support we provide for our students, we also care for the social-emotional needs of all students through our Charger Pride program. Students participate in activities to learn about positive character traits and practice effective conflict management.
We value our partnership with an amazing parent community, including the Cherry Chase PTA. As a result of our supportive community, we are able to provide opportunities for student engagement through Project Cornerstone, International Night, the Walkathon, and a variety of after-school programs, just to name a few!
We are proud of our community, and we look forward to seeing our students grow through their elementary years into amazing learners and leaders. We look forward to our students returning to Cherry Chase year after year to visit with us and volunteer in our classrooms. We are inspired by the positive impact we make on our students' and families' lives, and we are enriched by the impact they make on ours!
