Safe Routes to Schools

  • Join Us for Walking Wednesdays!

San Miguel Elementary School has regular Walking Wednesdays! This is part of a larger national initiative called Safe Routes to School. Walking to school gives children, parents, school teachers, and community leaders an opportunity to celebrate the many benefits of walking. Walking to school creates communities that are safe places to walk, gives kids exercise, and develops healthy habits which motivates them to stay focused at school.  Volunteers will be cheering on and rewarding students with prizes who walk, bike, scooter, skateboard, etc. to school.

San Miguel’s Walking Wednesdays are planned for the last Wednesday of each month.  We hope you will join us by walking, skating, or rolling to school!

Monthly volunteers are needed to make this program a success.

Thank you for helping us keep the kids safe and motivated!
