¡CONOCER A MAESTRA LYNCH!                

¡Hola! Me llamo Colleen Lynch Espinoza. Me da mucha alegría darles a ustedes y sus familias la bienvenida a San Miguel y la familia del programa de inmersión dual, “Juntos”. Vamos a tener un muy buen año, lleno de diversión y aprendizaje. Si su hijo/a es parte del programa “Juntos”, va a aprender en dos idiomas. ¡Aprender en dos idiomas significa DOBLE LA DIVERSIÓN! Espero conocer aún mejor a su familia y a su hijo. Ahora me gustaría presentarme para que me conozcan mejor.

 Nací y crecía en Los Altos, California. Tengo dos hermanos mayores y dos hermanas menores. Mi esposo es de Chile y su familia todavía vive allá. Nos gusta mucho visitar a ellos cuando podemos. Vivimos cerca de mis papas y mi abuela y ojalá este año vean a ellos ayudando con proyectos en nuestro salón. Mis pasatiempos son leer, correr, hacer y comer helado casero, cocinar recetas nuevas, hablar español, y viajar.

Este será mi décimo año en San Miguel pero mi primero año como una "coach" de las maestras y con la coordinacion del programa "Juntos".  “Juntos” es un programa maravilloso – dónde los estudiantes llegarán a ser bilingües y biletrados juntos. Ser bilingüe cambia la vida de muchas maneras muy positivas. ¡Somos un equipo este año y será una aventura muy bonita!

Yo ya sé las alegrías y dificultades en llegar a ser bilingüe y biletrado. ¡Me siento muy afortunada poder ayudar y apoyarles en su camino! Yo estudiaba el español en la universidad Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Sin embargo, no llegó a ser bilingüe hasta que viví, estudié, y me enamoré de me esposo en Santiago, Chile de 2005 a 2006. Espero usar mi experiencia como un ejemplo para su hijo/a y familia para que sepan y vean que con esfuerzo, dedicación, y tiempo, es posible llegar a ser bilingüe y biletrado/a.

Nadie conoce mejor a su hijo/a que usted. Espero con muchas ganas trabajar con su familia este año para cumplir las necesidades lingüísticas, académicas, sociales y emocionales de su hijo/a. 

MEET MAESTRA LYNCH!

Hello! My name is Colleen Lynch Espinoza and I am very excited to welcome you and your child to the San Miguel and “Juntos” families! This year will be filled with lots of fun and learning! If your child is in the Dual Immersion program, they will be learning in two languages. Learning in two languages means DOUBLE THE FUN! I can’t wait to learn more about your child and you, but first I’d like to share a few things about me.

I was born and raised in Los Altos, California. I have two older brothers and two younger sisters! My husband and his family are from Chile and we enjoy visiting them when we can. My parents and grandmother live in the area, too, so you may see them helping with projects this year! In my free time, I love to read, run, make and eat ice cream, try new recipes, speak Spanish, and travel.

This will be my 10^th year of teaching in the Sunnyvale School District and at San Miguel but my first year in my role as an early literacy coach and Juntos coordinator. We are lucky to have a wonderful Juntos program – where students become bilingual and biliterate. You are giving your child a wonderful opportunity and GIFT. Being bilingual is life changing in so many positive ways! We are on this exciting adventure together!

 I know the joys and challenges on the road to becoming bilingual! I look forward to supporting and encouraging them on their journey! I learned Spanish while in college, at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and especially while living, studying, and falling in love with my husband, in Santiago, Chile from 2005 to 2006. I hope to use myself and my journey as a powerful model for your children, and your family, so you can see how wonderful it is to be bilingual and as a reminder that, yes, with time and practice, they TOO will be bilingual.
