School Site Council (SSC)

School Site Council is a joint group that includes the principal, teachers, classified employees, parents, and students that monitor school progress. The members of the site council are elected by their peers. School Site Council is required by the state and the primary tasks are:
- Develop and approve the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) and related expenditures and recommend it to the board.
- Provide ongoing review of the implementation of the SPSA with the principal, teachers, and other school staff members
- Make modifications to the SPSA and resubmit to the board if the need arises.
- Annually evaluate the progress made toward school goals to raise the academic achievement of all students.
- Advise the principal of matters related to educational needs, parent opinions on significant issues, and communication.
- Carry out all other duties assigned to the SSC by the district governing board and by state law
