Our partnership with Project Cornerstone allows us the opportunity to provide our students and families with the Asset Building Champions (ABC) Family Engagement Program. Through the program, adults learn to create positive connections with their own children and youth in the community and volunteer at schools to read specially selected books and lead activities that help teach valuable lessons such as making healthy choices, peaceful conflict resolution, honesty, and friendship skills.

 

Goals of the Program

• Increase the number of developmental assets in ALL children and adults. The 41 developmental assets are the positive values, relationships, skills, and experiences that help young people thrive.
• Increase the number of caring adults.
• Create a common language and vocabulary.
• Use stories to teach respect.
• Decrease bullying behaviors.
• Create a caring, positive school to increase academic achievement and engagement.
