1913 - The opening of school was delayed by smallpox

1915 - Sunnyvale Grammar School opens on January 4

1916 - Sunnyvale Parent Teacher Association (PTA) formed

1917 - A new auditorium, which serves the entire community, was built
1920-1929

1920 - Two classroom wings added

1923 - Student population growth called for the hiring of a vice principal and 16 teachers

1923 - Westside Union High School District starts classes at Sunnyvale Grammar site

1925 - The high school moved to its own site

1926 - New “cement building” constructed at Sunnyvale Grammar

1926 - Leased Ford Model T bus for $75/month to transport students

1927 - The District purchased its first bus for $500

1928 - Elected Board of Trustees - 309 votes.

1932 - Organized first band, made up of 35 children

1933 - Sold school bell to Baptist Church for $5

1938 - Recreational activities started by Mr. Fred Imhof
1940-1949

1944 - Mr. Stanley Ellis becomes the new Superintendent, replacing Jim Moon

1946 - Five more classrooms added

1948 - Construction on Bishop (Sunnyvale Avenue) School begins

1949 - Encina/Sunnyvale Grammar School closed

1949 - A total of 54 teachers and 1,792 students
