• Welcome SSD Families!

    (Updated January 3, 2022)

    Dear SSD Families,

    Happy New Year—

I hope you all have enjoyed a restful, safe holiday break.  We would like to share COVID-19 related updates with you. Our priority remains to maintain safe, in-person instruction.

Thank you to those who participated in the self-administered Covid tests that were distributed to families before the beginning of the holiday recess.  While there is no testing requirement for students or staff to return to campuses, taking such a test is very strongly encouraged.  We are working to secure additional tests for distribution before upcoming breaks

The current rise of cases in our county, state, and nation, should be a reminder of the importance for us all to adhere to and to apply our layers of safety with fidelity.

    • We will be continuing our testing program and morning screenings.
    • Masking will be more important than ever.
    • Hygiene: Hand Washing should continue to be part of your/your students' regular routine
    • Our in-classroom air scrubbers and HVAC system HEPA filters are additional layers that will continue to make our classrooms safe.
    • Vaccinations and boosters continue to be our best line of protection. (Sccfreevax.com)
    • The FDA has approved the COVID-19 booster shot for children 12 and up. The most updated vaccine information can be found on the Santa Clara County Public Health Department website.
    • It is critically important that all students and staff stay home if they are sick.

We’re well-positioned to weather this current challenge, so I am sincere when I say 2022 will, in fact, be a very happy new year.
